BlueCross BlueShield of ND
Frequently asked questions
Q: Who is eligible for the program?
A: Currently, the program is available for participating
Self-Funded and all Fully Insured
BCBSND employer groups. Eligible individuals will be
notified, and will be given
a welcome letter. This will be required upon enrolling in
the program.
Q: How does the program work?
A: Eligible Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND)
members, enrolled
in this program, who work out at a participating facility 12
days per month, receive
up to a $20.00 credit on the health club membership. Clubs
must have a usage
tracking mechanism to participate in the program. Apex
Management Services
will work with clubs to acquire the specific data transfer
requirements.
Q: What if my member’s monthly club fees are less than
$20.00 per month?
A: If a member’s monthly membership is less than $20.00, the
member’s credit
will reflect the amount the member pays per month. For
example, if the monthly
membership fee is $15.00 each month, the member will be
credited $15.00
each month they work out 12 times.
Q: How will my members receive their reimbursement?
A: There are different options for this. Depending on your
existing systems for payment,
there are different possibilities. Apex will provide one
monthly tracking report
to BCBSND including all eligible club members, and in
return, Apex will distribute
the credit funds accordingly.
• Clubs can credit their members EFT.
• Clubs can bank credits for their members who are paid in
full to use
towards their renewal.
• Services from Apex are flexible enough to meet the needs
of virtually
any health club.
Q: What do I need to do to participate in the program?
A: You can participate in NIHCA by completing the online
application at
www.nihca.org, and you will be listed immediately as a
participating club.
Then inform your staff of your decision to participate in this program.
